Angus Thomas has established himself as one of the leading educators in the field of photography and specialises in running small flash photography courses. He set up www.speedlighters.com in 2009 to meet the need of established and amateur photographers to broaden their skills with regards to small flash for location photography. He occasionally runs group courses but the majority of his teaching is now by way on one to one courses either based in London or Berkshire.

When Angus first started getting serious about the business of photography, he realised he needed to improve his technical knowledge. After an extensive trawl of the internet and a few phone calls, he concluded that the photography world is populated by many tool belt shufflers – people for whom gear comes before art. On this basis, he set up Speedlighters to cater for those who are not gearheads but who are interested in getting the best from the gear they already have.

Angus is passionate about small flash/small strobe photography and has made it his mission to demystify the subject for anyone willing to listen long enough. Angus’s teaching style is informal and very hands-on and will appeal to those whose toes curl at the thought of photography night classes or photography clubs.
